I offer depth-oriented psychotherapy
for women
in Farmington, Sandy Hook, and online.
Investment in Your Therapy
Therapy is an investment of time, energy, trust, and financial resources. I believe you deserve to understand clearly what that investment looks like before deciding whether working together feels right for you.
Individual Therapy
$200 | 55-minute session
Individual therapy is tailored to you rather than following a predetermined formula. Our work may include exploring emotions and relationship patterns, processing past experiences, developing greater awareness of protective responses, and reconnecting with parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or lost along the way.
Depending on your needs, I may integrate approaches such as IFS, EMDR, EFT, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and other therapeutic tools within our work.
Sessions can support you through trauma, anxiety, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and deeper questions of identity, meaning, and purpose.
Why I Choose to Be a Private-Pay Therapist
My decision to work as a private-pay, or out-of-network, therapist is intentional.
At the heart of it is my desire to keep your care centered on YOU, your needs, your goals, and the therapeutic relationship we create together.
When insurance is used for psychotherapy, insurance companies may have requirements related to diagnosis, documentation, medical necessity, and coverage of services.
Private-pay therapy allows for:
Greater privacy and confidentiality. Your personal information does not need to be routinely submitted to an insurance company for claims and reimbursement, although I am still required to maintain appropriate clinical records.
More flexibility around diagnosis. Insurance reimbursement generally requires a mental health diagnosis. With private-pay therapy, we can focus on what is bringing you to therapy without assigning a diagnosis solely for the purpose of obtaining insurance coverage.
More choice in your care. Together, we can determine the frequency, pace, and duration of therapy based on your individual needs rather than the parameters of an insurance plan.
Greater flexibility in the work we do together. Therapy can make room not only for symptoms, but also for relationships, life transitions, grief, identity, meaning, purpose, and other concerns that may not fit neatly within an insurance company's definition of medical necessity.
I've also structured my practice around private pay because it allows me to dedicate more of my time and attention to clinical work rather than insurance paperwork, authorizations, and reimbursement requirements.
This means more of my energy can remain focused where I want it to be, on my clients and the work we do together.
Ultimately, I want decisions about your therapy to remain where I believe they belong:
within the therapeutic relationship,
guided by your needs and our collaborative clinical judgment.
Out-of-Network Benefits
Although I do not participate directly with insurance companies, your plan may include out-of-network mental health benefits that reimburse you for a portion of the cost of therapy.
If you would like to use these benefits, I can provide the documentation needed for you to submit a claim to your insurance company.
Because every plan is different, I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to ask about your out-of-network behavioral health benefits, deductible, and reimbursement rate.
Reduced-Fee Availability
I understand that private-pay therapy is a meaningful financial commitment.
A limited number of reduced-fee spaces may be available. If cost would otherwise prevent us from working together, you're welcome to ask about current availability.
